Multidimensional hydrodynamic and magneto-hydrodynamic simulations of astrophysical phenomena, supernovae explosions; relativistic astrophysics and gravitational radiation; dynamics and morphology of jets
I worked on numerical simulations of a variety of astrophysical systems, ranging from thermonuclear supernovae over star-forming clouds to cosmological structure formation. My speciality is subgrid-scale models for small-scale physics (turbulence, feedback, dynamos). Currently, I am especially interested in the production of turbulence on cosmological scales, the formation and evolution of galaxies, and the amplification of magnetic fields by turbulence.
